| WHEN / WHY AM I NEEDED? |
More than 500 election workers are needed to conduct each countywide
election in Galveston County. In specific, the annual Primary Elections
in March, Primary Runoffs in April, Constitutional Amendment Election in
November, the General Election in November and any special elections
during the year. |

| WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO? |
|
► Report to your polling location at given time on Election Day
promptly. ► Prepare the area for voting.
► Set up the voting equipment and supplies.
► Open the polling location on time.
► Demonstrate voting procedures and process the voters.
► Provide assistance to voters when called upon.
► Close the polling location.
► Complete paperwork at the direction of the judge.
► Deliver election materials to drop off zone. |

| WHAT TRAINING IS NEEDED? |
By law, election workers must attend training classes. Training classes
last about two hours and keep election workers informed of new laws and
changes in the election procedure.
Election workers are trained to work the voting machines, qualify and
process voters and complete the Return Sheets.
Training classes are held for Early Voting Clerks and Election Day
Clerks in various locations.

WHERE WILL I WORK? |
You will work in a precinct that may need additional help or where a
vacancy exists. Consideration is given when placing election workers
according to voting precincts and party affiliations. |
